Vetoryl 5mg, 10mg, 30mg, 60mg and 120mg capsules are a trusted and highly effective medication used for the treatment of hyperadrenocorticism (Cushing's syndrome) in dogs. Cushing's syndrome is a condition caused by the excessive production of cortisol, which can lead to various health issues, including increased thirst and urination, hair loss, and a weakened immune system. Vetoryl works by controlling the production of cortisol, helping to manage the symptoms and improve your dog's quality of life. Available in multiple strengths, Vetoryl offers flexible dosing options tailored to your dog’s specific needs.

  • Vetoryl 5mg Capsules
  • Vetoryl 10mg Capsules
  • Vetoryl 30mg Capsules
  • Vetoryl 60mg Capsules

All strengths are supplied in boxes containing 30 capsules.

Active Ingredient
Each capsule of Vetoryl contains the following active ingredient:

  • Trilostane

Trilostane is an adrenal steroid synthesis inhibitor that helps to reduce the excessive production of cortisol, effectively managing the symptoms of Cushing's syndrome in dogs.

Typical Dosage
The dosage of Vetoryl should be determined by a veterinarian based on your dog's weight, the severity of the condition, and specific treatment needs. The initial recommended dose is typically 2mg to 10mg per kg of body weight, administered once daily. Depending on the response to the treatment, your vet may adjust the dosage. Regular monitoring of cortisol levels is essential to ensure the treatment is effective and safe.

Potential Side-Effects
Vetoryl is generally well-tolerated, but some dogs may experience side effects. These can include:

  • Vomiting or diarrhoea
  • Lethargy or tiredness
  • Loss of appetite
  • In rare cases, more severe reactions such as adrenal insufficiency

If any side effects are observed, or if your dog’s condition does not improve, consult your veterinarian immediately.
